Revelation 4:1-2 (NKJV)

 How the book of Revelation is divided (Rev. 1:19)

1). “Write the things which you have seen” (Chapter 1)

2). “and the things which are” (Chapters 2-3)

3). “and the things which will take place after this” (Chapters 4-22)

THREE QUESTIONS ABOUT THE RAPTURE:

1ST. What does the word “Rapture” mean? (1 Thes. 4:16-17)

  •        “Decent” (v. 16), “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven” (Acts 1:11) (Mt. 24:30) Also (v. 17), “in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air”
  •        “Description” (v. 16), “with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God” (Mt. 24:31) (1 Cor. 15:52)
  •        “Dead” (v. 16), “And the dead in Christ will rise first”

“Two Resurrections” (Jn. 5:28-29)

A. “Resurrection of Life” (consist only of believers)

1st Section (some saints resurrected w/Jesus) (Mt. 27:51-53)

2nd Section (comes here Rapture) (1 Thes. 4:16-17, Rev. 4:1)

Two things will happen at the “Rapture”:

“Dead in Christ will rise first” (1 Cor. 15:52-53)

“Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in clouds…”

3rd Section (tribulation Saints)

B. “Resurrection of Condemnation” (consist of lost people) It is called “Great White Throne of Judgement” (Rev. 20:11-14)

2ND. When will the “Rapture” take place?

A.  “Imminent return of Christ”

Jesus (Mt. 24:42, 44) (Mt. 25:13)

Peter (1 Pet. 4:7)
John (1 Jn. 2:18a) “Little children, it is the last hour…”

B.  Why I believe Rev. 4:1-2 is the “Rapture” of the Church

“Church is missing”

“Phrase” (“behold a door standing open in heaven”)(1 Thes. 4: 16-17)

“Removal of the Holy Spirit” (Rev. 4:2), “I was in the Spirit … and a throne set in heaven” (2 Thes. 2:7)

“What Jesus said” (Rev. 3:10, 1 Thes. 5:9, 1 Thes. 1:10)
