LIVING OFF YESTERDAY
Exodus 16:18-22
“EXPERIENCES”
When it comes to the things of God, how many of us are living off what happened yesterday?
Do we have any fresh manna from God today?
HAVE YOU HAD ANY “FRESH EXPERIENCES” WITH GOD LATELY?
1ST Fresh filling of God’s Spirit?
“And do not get drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit.” (Eph. 5:18),
Why do we need a “fresh filling” of God’s Spirit?
A. Maturity
“speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God.” (Eph. 5:19-21)
Signs of Spiritual Maturity:
1. Speaking (v. 19)
2. Thanksgiving (v. 20)
3. Submitting (v. 21)
B. Ministry
“And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit…” (Acts 4:31)
Why did they want a “fresh filling” of the Holy Spirit?
1. Boldness “…with boldness that we may speak Your word” (Acts 4:29)
2. To heal “by stretching out Your hand to heal...” (Acts 4:30)
3. Signs and wonders “and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus” (Acts 4:30)
2ND Fresh filling of God’s revelation
“that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.” (Eph. 1:17)
A. Study
“Study to shew thyself approved…” (2 Tim. 2:15 KJV)
B. Discipline
“I discipline my body and make it my slave…” (1 Cor. 9:27)
C. Willingness
“The path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.” (Prov. 4:18)
3RD Fresh filling of God’s strength
“I will not let You go unless You bless me!” (Gen. 32:26)
