LISTEN MORE

OUR CHRISTMAS WISH LIST
LISTEN MORE
Matthew 2:12 (NKJV)

People spend between 70-80% of the day engaged in some form of communication, and about 55% of their time is devoted to listening!

Research suggests the average person hears between 20,000 to 30,000 words during a twenty-four-hour period (provided you’re not a man in the doghouse) you hear a lot more!

The average number of words you’re able to listen to per minute is around 450!

Listening to nagging or complaining for 30 minutes or more can cause damage to the part of the brain that handles problem-solving skills!

Women are better listeners than men!

Genesis 22:1-4

By “listening to God” it can:

1. Build our confidence

And Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey; the [a]lad and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you.” (Gen. 22:5)

Where was Abraham’s Confidence?

It was in what he “said”
And Abraham said to his young men, Stay here with the donkey…”(Gen. 22:5a)

It was in what he “saw”
the lad and I will go yonder and worship…” (Gen. 22:5b)

It was in what he “showed”
and we will come back to you.” (Gen. 22:5c)

2.  Broaden our comprehension

So Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife, and the two of them went together. But Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, “My father!” And he said, “Here I am, my son.” Then he said, “Look, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?” And Abraham said, “My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering.” So the two of them went together. (Gen. 22:6-8)

  • Faith becomes stronger
  • Circumstances become clearer
  • God becomes closer

3. Bring us compensation

and said: “By Myself I have sworn, says the Lord, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. (Gen. 22:16-17)
